Estate hand harvested about a month later than usual due to a cool summer and warm harvest. This wine was aged for 14 months in 10% American and 90% French oak with 33% new and 67% season barrels. Only getting better with age, balancing its acidity with a bit higher residual sugar at 8.6g/L. Coarsest filtered, so some sediment may appear. Ripe cherry, dark chocolate, and tobacco leaf aromas, followed by a long finish with dark fruit and elegant tannins. Pair with stuffed peppers, blue cheeseburgers or a good steak. Decant for best results. 750ml bottle, 13.5% ABV.
