Appearance: Straw.
Nose: Nice spicy oak, butter, vanilla and baked apple. A nice mineral character shows through as well as hints of tropical fruit. Moderately rich.
Palate: Dry with moderate acidity, midweight plus. Apple/pear/apricot fruit on the attack, with nicely integrated oak and softness midpalate. Quite a good long finish, very clean.
Conclusions: Great value in oaked chardonnay, midrange between unoaked and heavily oaked. Superclean experience, ageworthy - this can go another five years. Nicely done. |
